The comic version of Magilian in Darkness is based on the original text version. Maodou, a girl who grown up without mother, found her father disappeared on her 15th birthday left a note to Maodou about the existence of the Beast and his plan to bring back Maodou's mother. In order to look for her parents and unlock the secrets of the Beast, Maodou started to learn how to hunt Beast from a Beast-hunter Lama. Once a Beast controlled a man's heart, ate his ugly desires as food, the man would turn into a greedy and hypercritical person. Maodou tried to help people with a Beast living inside. While doing it, she grown into a stronger and braver young woman.
